Hemophilia Data Set (HDS)

Active patient is defined as a patient with hemophilia, von Willebrand Disease, or other factor deficiencies with whom a treatment center staff person has had a two-way substantive interaction, in person, by phone, or by exchange of letters with in the reporting calendar year. In order to count as active, interactions should be related to comprehensive or HIV-related care or risk reduction. Patients who have died or moved out of the catchment area within the calendar year and met the above criteria should be counted as active. Active patients do not include patients seen for consultation only.
