“Camp made me feel happy and comfortable being around people that know I have hemophilia and didn’t treat me differently. I was really nervous making new friends but there were a lot of friendly people. It was a fun place. I met a lot of people with bleeding disorders, knowing that there are a lot people like made me really comfortable. Since I made a lot of best friends at camp we traded email addresses and call each other.”

“Camp Bold Eagle is a special place where kids and adults alike feel empowered… campers and counselors alike supported each other in an environment that cultivated creativity, collaboration, and a whole lot of fun. Camp Bold Eagle is indeed a place where people feel safe, but not because they are sheltered and protected from any semblance of harm. Instead, they feel safe because they are with their CBE family, and it was a family in the truest sense of the word.”

“Working at camp has cemented my love for working with children, which has led me to my current career working as a nurse practitioner in a pediatric emergency department. It has also provided the unique opportunity to work with other people who are living with bleeding disorders and learn from them. Camp is where I met some of my closest friends, as well as where I met the love of my life. Camp will always hold a special place in my heart; I owe the best parts of my life to camp.”
