Dinner Talk: Understanding the Science of Bleeds in Hemophilia A

Learn about the science and impact of joint bleeds from a physical therapist and hear the compelling data on bleeds and joint bleeds from a hemophilia A treatment. 

Speaker: Peter Aguero, PT, DPT

Peter Aguero is the specialized physical therapist of the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Treatment Center, at the University of California, San Diego. In addition, he is a senior
physical therapist for the Department of Rehabilitation at the Jacobs Medical Center and Thornton Hospital in La Jolla, California. Peter earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for health
sciences in San Marcos, California, and graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Science in sports medicine.

Peter is currently involved with researching the validation of the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Joint Activity and Damage Exam (JADE) protocol and the development of wellness/exercise programs for this patient population. In addition, he is an instructor for the CME-accredited course “Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in Hemophilia” at the University of California, San Diego.
