Medicare 101

Join HFM for our latest advocacy webinar to help you become more familiar and comfortable enrolling and engaging with Medicare!

Our guest speaker, Melissa Devine, MMAP Site Coordinator, will explain the basics of Medicare including how to enroll, when to enroll, and what to look for in your plan choices.

Insurance is the lifeline to care for the bleeding disorders community. Empower yourself with the knowledge you need to be your best advocate!

Speaker: Melissa Devine, Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) Site Coordinator, Washtenaw, Monroe and Livingston County

Melissa has been with MMAP and AAA 1-B for 5 years. During her tenure with MMAP she has been awarded Site Coordinator of the Year. Melissa believes health care is not an privilege, but rather an right. That’s part of what drew Melissa to MMAP. Melissa works to educate and empower Medicare beneficiaries about Medicare, so they can make educated decisions that allow them to have healthcare coverage without other lifestyle insecurities, whether it’s food insecurity or homelessness. Support and advocacy are very important to Melissa.

In Melissa’s spare time she runs her family business, Devine Apothecary. Melissa also spends time with her family which is always fun and never dull. Having a large family makes for a great time; her five kiddos, 2 dogs, cat and macaw are always up to trouble and fun together.

HFM will treat attendees to dinner during this educational program.
Order carryout or delivery and send a photo of your itemized receipt to Laura at lolson@hfmich.org. You will be reimbursed for your meal (up to $30 per family). Please note that we are unable to reimburse alcohol purchases.
