HFM Ruby Connection: Financial Wellness 101

Join HFM’s women’s group, the Ruby Connection, at 7-8pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Adult women in the bleeding disorders community come together for online social experiences that include an educational speaker or activity and connection with other women in the community. The group is open to women affected with a bleeding disorder or involved in the bleeding disorder community.Ā

TOPIC: Financial Wellness

What does it mean to beĀ ā€œfinancially well?ā€ What steps can you take to achieve financial wellness in todayā€™s stressful environment?

In this workshop, weā€™ll review:

  • The impact of fixed money mindsets and how changing our stories around money can change our actions (and our lives)
  • The power of values-based spending
  • A few steps you can start taking today to secure your future, no matter your income level

Youā€™ll come away from the workshop with some new ideas about money, a template for making financial decisions, and actionable steps to start creatingĀ wealth and reducing money stress in your life.

Speaker: Debra Jacobs, Ed.M.

Debra Jacobs is a financial coach who helps people overcome shame, fear, and overwhelm around money and take action to master their personal finances.Ā

She has developed financial literacy curricula, taught classes to teens and adults, presented financial wellness workshops around the country, and worked with many clients to achieve positive, measurable results. Those results include, among others, moving beyond limiting money mindsets, becoming intentional with values-based budgeting, making and carrying out savings and debt pay-down plans, and achieving financial goals.

Prior to startingĀ Money Smart for Life, her financial coaching business, Debra owned and operated a preschool and worked as a parent coach and preschool consultant. She is also a published author and editor and holds an EdM from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. The most important job she’s ever had is being mom to two (now young adult) daughters.

HFM is happy to treat attendees to dinner during this educational program.Ā
